National Ice Cream Month

In 1994, President Ronald Reagan designated July as National Ice Cream Month and the third Sunday of the month as National Ice Cream Day. He recognized ice cream as a fun and nutrtitious food that is enjoyed by 90% of the nation's population. National Blueberry Month

In 2003, the United States Department of Agriculture and the North American Blueberry Council officially declared July as National Blueberry Month. Celebrate fresh blueberries by visiting a local farm, attending a local blueberry festival, or buying blueberries at your local supermarket.

  • American poet, Robert Frost, loved blueberries so he wrote a poem called "Blueberries."

Blueberry - U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council -  For more than 40 years, the pioneers of the highbush blueberry industry have invested in the promotion and market development of blueberries. In 2001, growers approved the Blueberry Promotion, Research, and Information Order to strengthen the blueberry industry's position in the marketplace. 

Alabama Blueberry Festival - Located in Brewton, AL, the festival occured in June, but there is still time to order a 2013 Blueberry Festival Cookbook.
