Deesha Philyaw is a graduate of Yale University where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Economics. She also has a Master of Arts in Education from Manhattanville College. Some of her other publications include Co-Parenting 101, When the Skeleton in the Family Closet is a Nazi, and What Else Black Moms Know: How to Parent Beyond Stereotypes. In addition to all of these accomplishments, she is also the founding editor of the 1839 Magazine. Currently, The Secret Lives of Church Ladies is being adapted for a HBO Series. When she is not writing short stories or novels, Ms. Philyaw enjoys spending time with her family.
