International Education Week (commonly known as IEW) is held the third week of November. For 2024, it will be November 18-22. The theme for 2024 is "Explore".
For the Fall 2024 semester, Alabama State University has enrolled international students from over 40 countries.
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. Different universities have ideas on how to celebrate this week. Some universities with activities planned include:
Emory University - 2024 IEW main site with links to an essay contest, calendar of events, and list of campous partners + planning committee. The theme is "Local to Global: Celebrating International Education Week at Emory". Their events are during Nov. 18-22, 2024 with two pre-IEW events on Nov. 8 and 14, 2024.

University of North Georgia - 2024 IEW schedule for Nov. 11-20, 2024 with workshops, teas, as well as an "identities abroad panel" where "unique experiences of students who identify as part of a traditionally underrepresented group in education abroad."
University of Texas-Austin- 2024 IEW events with event calendar, photo contest, news, and suggestions for how to get involved with IEW events. Their events are during Nov. 18-22, 2024.
Western Carolina University - 2024 IEW "week of events promotes programs and prepares U.S. Americans for a global environment and to attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange their experiences." These events are during Nov. 14, 18-22, 2024.
