July 2014 What's Happening @ LWLC : UV Safety Month

National UV Safety Month

July is UV Safety Month. Skin cancer is the most common type of cancer in the United States. UV Safety Month aims to raise awareness about skin cancer and help people take action to prevent it. 
 
Healthfinder.gov and the American Academy of Ophthamology provide access to resources to help you spread the word and get involved in UV Safety Month. Access the Toolkit  (despite its date of July 2013, the information is still relevant for 2014)
  
Center for Disease Control & Prevention - UV Radiation - The CDC provides access to resources regarding risks of UV radiation and recommendations for skin cancer prevention.
 
Environment Protection Agency - SunWise - Sun safety for kids and educators.
 
Skin Cancer Foundation - Provides access to Summer Safety Tips for Kids and information about skin cancer prevention and protection.
