May is National Military Appreciation Month (NMAM) and has been since 1999 when Congress set aside this month to celebrate the nation's military. While we appreciate our military every day, this month has been set aside for people to honor, recognize, and remember those who have served in the military, both present and past.
May 1 - Loyalty Day
May 8 - Victory in Europe (VE) Day
May 8 - Military Spouse Appreciation Day (Friday before Mothers' Day)
May 16 - Armed Forces Day (3rd Saturday of May)
May 25 - Memorial Day (last Monday of May)
