What do I need to check out a library item?
Students, faculty and staff must present a current ASU ID card to checkout materials.
How many books may I check out, and how long may I keep them?
Students may check out up to 15 items for a period of 28 days. There is one renewal permitted, provided the item has not been recalled.
What are daily overdue fines?
A library user will be assessed a fine if an item is not returned by its due date, which does not include the grace period of seven days. The fines for all users is twenty-five cents (.25) per day, per item, according a maximum fine of $10.00 per item.
Non-payment of overdue items will result in the suspension of borrowing privileges and in the case of students, holds will be placed on their accounts that prevent registration and transcript requests.
Can students check out reference books, newspapers or magazines?
These items are not available for checkout. They are designated Library Use Only.

Are cell phones allowed in the Library?
Cell phones are allowed, but must be set to silent. All calls should be taken outside the library in order to avoid disturbing others.
Are students allowed to have food and drink in the Library?
At this time food and drinks are not allowed in the Library. These items pose a risk to both electronic and print materials. There is a small snack area available in the building for meals and snacks.
What are the Library Hours? Is the library open during student breaks?
The Library is open during Fall and Spring Semesters Monday-Thursday 8:00am to 11:00pm, Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm Saturday from 10:00am to 4:00pm, an Sunday from 2:00pm to 10:00pm. The library is open during student breaks unless the university is closed.
How can I get an item the library does not have?
You may apply for a Montgomery Higher Education Consortium (MHEC) sticker at the circulation desk. Or, you may complete the necessary forms to obtain materials from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan.
I need a projector (or other AV equipment) for a presentation. Can I reserve one through the library?
Yes. Reservations for AV equipment may be made from the Library Media Center located on the 5th floor of the Levi Watkins Learning Center.
