Here are favorite hobbies of 5 LWLC staff members:
Cassandra Cavness, Humanities / Digital Archivist
"My favorite hobby is coaching baseball. My main goal while coaching is to teach the boys sportsmanship and teamwork."
Jina DuVernay, Special Collections Librarian
"One of my hobbies is reading, which is not a given by the way, as I'm told most librarians do not actually read! However, I have discovered a new thrill that makes reading that much more exciting. I have recently begun to seek out author events to hear authors do a reading of their work and to have my book signed by the author. Thus far, I have books signed by Tayari Jones, Alexis Okeowo, Brit Bennett, Yaa Gyasi, and the MacArthur Grant and two time National Book Award winner, Jesmyn Ward. It is very fulfilling to hear an author in person or to speak with the author, if only for a brief moment. I am always in awe of good writers and to have their signature in a book that I relished is the icing on the cake for me."
Neil Foulger, Electronic Resources / Serials Services Librarian
"I've been collecting post cards since childhood. My favorites are maps (many U.S. states) and collections of scenes or sights (landmarks of a city or country), both of which form an atlas on my dining room walls."
Natasha Jenkins, Information Literacy Librarian
"Fashion has been a passion of mine for as long as I can remember and definitely the reason my personal style changes more than the weather. I enjoy fashion from head to toe...meaning hair, clothes, shoes, and everything in between. In order to get my fashion fix in the fashion capital that is Montgomery, I watch any television show designed around fashion."
