Some books and ebooks pertaining to hobbies are listed below. They also relate to hobbies some LWLC staff members enjoy.

Hobbies of Members of the LWLC Staff

Evelyn Bowen, Operations Manager

“My latest life-changing hobby is participating in GirlTrek - the largest health movement for Black women."

Neil Foulger, Electronic Resources / Serials Services Librarian

"I've collected coins and bills from different places and time periods since I was young. My collection includes those my great-grandfather collected during a round-the-world voyage along with money from different countries I've visited (ties into another hobby of mine: travel)."

Dr. Monica Hodge, Health Sciences Librarian/OT

"In my spare time, I enjoy doing cardio workouts such as power walking, stair climbing, or elliptical training for one hour, 2 to 3 times per week due to the overall health benefits of these exercises. These workouts certainly help to ease stress, increase one's energy levels, and are great for boosting your immune system, warding off many colds and infections."

Dr. Natasha Jenkins, Interim Associate Director for Public and Technical Services
"I enjoy arts and crafts like painting, floral arrangements, photography, and home decor.  I've been relatively creative all my life, so I use my free time to create pretty things for others to enjoy."

Reena Miller, Administrative Secretary
"My favorite hobby that I like to do in my spare time is going to concerts. The most recent concert I have attended is the Cowboy Carter Tour- Beyoncé."

Jessica E. Platt, Associate Coordinator of Research, Instruction & Engagement

"I love drawing and painting. My favorite drawing mediums are charcoal, graphite, and pastels, and I love the fluidity of watercolors and acrylics on the painting side. I'm excited to start exploring oils again soon. A highlight of this year was having six of my pieces featured in local exhibitions."

Raegan Stearns, Electronic Resources / Serials Services Librarian

"Ceramics: I was recently able to take an introductory ceramics class in the ASU Art Department. It was an activity that I always wanted to try, and it did not disappoint! I loved learning how to throw on the pottery wheel. The activity was messier than I could imagine, more physical than I could imagine, and more fun than I ever dreamed!"
