International Education Week (commonly known as IEW) is held the third week of November. For 2022, it will be November 14-18.
For the Fall 2022 semester, Alabama State University has enrolled international students from over 40 countries.
International Education Week is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences in the United States. Different universities have ideas on how to celebrate this week. However, due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, events will be handled differently. Some universities with activities planned include:
Georgia State University - 2022 IEW events along with links to international education opportunities and resources. Their events are during Nov. 7-11, 2022.
Rice University - promotion for 2022 IEW activities along with links to previous years' IEW activities and photos. Their events are during Nov. 12-18, 2022.
University of Alabama - 2022 IEW events with introductory video, links to other international-themed events / activities / subjects and list of events. Their events are during Nov. 14-18, 2022.
University of North Carolina Charlotte - 2022 IEW events (readable online booklet) along with video defining International Education Week. Their events are during Nov. 14-18, 2022.
University of Texas-Austin- 2022 IEW events with event calendar, photo contest, news, and suggestions for how to get involved with IEW events. Their events are during Nov. 14-18, 2022.
