Engagement with Faculty & Students

We want to increase our engagement with the faculty and students on our campus in a variety of creative ways!

Please let me know if you know of an upcoming event for the department(s) you support. We might be able to partner with departments by promoting library resources and services at some events on campus.

If you have an idea of how to better engage with ASU, let me know. We can work together to plan and manage engaging strategies, such as:

  • workshops on databases, search strategies, and citation styles
  • research meetings and forums
  • flyers
  • brochures
  • LWLC publications (The Libretto, All the Buzz, Lift Every Voice, etc.)
  • assessments (surveys, pre-tests, post-tests, etc.)
  • focus groups
  • displays
  • game nights
  • scavenger hunts
  • carnival-style booths that highlight a variety of library services

Book Orders

One way to engage faculty and students is by ordering materials that have been requested or that support courses or students' interests. If you receive multiple requests for specific titles, please add these titles to your cart in GOBI.

Faculty and staff can use the Materials Request Form to request materials (books, audiovisual, etc.) for possible acquisition by the Levi Watkins Learning Center. Please note that the acquisition of materials is subject to budget limits, academic needs, and library collection development policies. Therefore, the acquisition of any particular material is not guaranteed.

  • Requested materials must be tied to a course or program taught here at the University. Funding does not permit purchases for personal interest.
  • The LWLC does not purchase copies of course textbooks.

Update your book orders in GOBI soon. Your Google Drive has been updated to include a Spreadsheet for your allocations for 2023-2024. Please contact me or Ms. Eaton if you need further information.

GOBI e-books are set up with multiple vendors. We only have a contract on file with EBSCO, please use EBSCO as your vendor for E-books.

The price for e-books depends on the number of users allowed to read the book at one time. They are usually broken down as 1, 3, 5, or unlimited users. The decision is up to you on which user option is best.

You have until May 27, 2024 to spend allocated funds.
